“As a scientist working with winemakers, I wanted to reveal the history and science of their secrets, and tell the magnificent story you can find in every glass of wine.”

Dr Andrew Wood is a plant biologist who has just finished a PhD at the University of Oxford looking at the cutting-edge science of wine quality, and exploring the intersection of genetics, climate change, agriculture, and international trade to understand what makes a good wine. He regularly gives academic wine tastings and lectures and his research has been reported on in the Times, New Scientist, Economist, Independent and National Geographic, amongst others. Noble Nine is his first book.
