Dr Anton Howes is an independent historian of invention. He runs the popular newsletter Age of Invention and is official historian of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, as well as head of innovation research at The Entrepreneurs Network.

He was formerly lecturer in economic history at King's College London, where he also received his PhD. He lives in Edinburgh.
