Publication Day Desk

We love asking our authors to show us where they write. Here in celebration of Penguin Random House imprint Michael Joseph’s publication today of The Universal History of Us is Tim Coulson’s desk. Happy publication day, Tim!

Tim is a Professor of Biology at Oxford University. ‘What I find remarkable,’ he says, ‘is that an intense point of enormously hot energy that formed 13.77 billion years ago grew to become the universe, and that in our corner of the cosmos a tiny bit of that energy became us. Scientists know a lot about what had to happen for this to occur. My book summarises what they have found out.’

He is reading his own audiobook.

The first review is already in from Martin Chilton at the Independent who writes, ‘Coulson’s book is highly readable and a neat mixture of erudition and entertainment’.

Tim will be talking at Caper Bookshop in Oxford at 7.30 on Tuesday 9th July, and at other events through the summer and autumn.
