Theatre adaptation of Faïza Guène's novel DISCRETION

In amazing collaboration between Faïza Guène, translator Sarah Ardizzone,  Good Chance Theatre and a talented group of actors and musicians, Faïza's novel Discretion (Saqi Books, 2022) has been turned into a theatrical reading with music, which goes on tour this week to Algeria and Marseille. In Marseille it will be performed as part of the Oh les beaux jours! festival at the Mucem auditorium.

60 years ago, Algeria won independence from French rule following a bloody eight-year war. Many fled to France to escape violence by both sides, including Faïza Guène’s parents. In Discretion, Faïza deftly explores a generation that remainded discreet about harrowing experiences on both sides of the Mediterranean.

We wish all the performers beaux jours
