Nigel Warburton is a freelance philosopher and podcaster. He was a Philosophy lecturer for 20 years, first at Nottingham University, and then at The Open University. His books, which have been translated into many languages, include the bestselling A Little History of PhilosophyPhilosophy: the BasicsPhilosophy: the ClassicsThinking from A to ZThe Art QuestionFree Speech: A Very Short Introduction, and Ernö Goldfinger: The Life of an Architect. He has also edited a book about the photographer Bill Brandt.

With David Edmonds he makes the popular podcast series Philosophy Bites which has had over 47 million episode downloads and has been the basis for four books. He is consultant senior editor for Aeon.co, consultant Philosophy editor for the Five Book websites, and a regular contributor to The New Philosopher, He has a weekly column ‘Everyday Philosophy’ in The New European newspaper, and has written for many magazines and newspapers including The GuardianProspect MagazineAeon, and The Art Newspaper.
